“Gender inequality remains an obstacle, in many countries,
to the extension of education.”

Between 1979 and 2010, a biennial advanced course brought together internationally renowned speakers on a topic related to Piagetian theory. In 2012, the Jean Piaget Archives organized a Day of Great Witnesses. From 2014, the biennial Jean Piaget Conference has taken its place, offering among its activities a series of lectures.

Tribute to Bärbel Inhelder:
the place of women
in psychology

March 3, 2020, from 12:15 pm to 1:45 pm, Uni Mail, room S150

The year 2020 marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Professor Jean Piaget, one of the most prominent psychologists of the 20th century. Throughout the year, the Jean Piaget Archives will commemorate his work, also taking the opportunity to give her and his collaborators a place within the School of Geneva. It is in this context that on March 3rd, 2020, during the Equality Week, there will be a tribute to Professor Bärbel Inhelder, her closest colleague, allowing us to address the question of the place of women in psychology.

This tribute will take the form of a round table in which Professors Anik de Ribaupierre, Laurence Rieben and Bernard Schneuwly will present their experiences at the Geneva School, as well as their relationship with Professor Bärbel Inhelder and her role in research. The place of women in psychology will also be addressed.
